Goodrich Industries: Prestwick
Phase 2
The Goodrich Phase 2 project consisted of a portal frame extension to the existing Goodrich facility that BHC Ltd. designed and built in 2003.
Phase 2 involved the supply and erection of a 90 metre triple span portal frame 131.75 metres long with a typical bay size of 7.75 metres.
Competitive Design
The structural engineers URS adopted BHC's design principles from Phase 1 in order to keep the construction costs to a minimum, as BHC had provided a very competitive design for the initial phase.
BHC supplied and erected hot rolled steelwork and contractor designed cold formed purlins and siderails for the project.
Completed on time and on budget
Utilising our own in-house steel erection squads, mobile cranes and mobile elevated working platforms augmented with hired plant, BHC were able to complete the erection of the hot rolled portal frame steelwork and cold rolled purlins and siderails using three erection squads on time and on budget.
