Automated Sawdust Packaging Facility for Alexander Anderson, Bo'ness
BHC completed all groundworks, both internal and external, all building works, steelwork, cladding and doors.
This facility takes in loose sawdust from wood centres and saw mills all over Scotland. The sawdust is then processed, graded and packaged in bales for distribution and sale.
The unique feature to this building is the internal tipping ramp incorporated into an 80ft high section of the building which accommodates articulated trailers loaded with sawdust. The trailers are tipped into the lower section, which was designed to house the fully-automated and robotically-controlled sawdust packaging plant.
The external yard area, complete with new drainage system, was designed to improve the efficiency of the site's complicated logistics.
